About 2012 and the Maya Calendar

Maya GlyphsAccording to the Popol Vuh, the Maya sacred book, time was divided into eras of 13 baktuns (each lasting 394 years), which adds up to 5,126 years per era. The current era began on August 13, 3114BC, which means it will come to an end on December 21, 2011.

The Maya believe that endings are a part of the cycle of life and necessary for renewal and renaissance. This date should therefore, not be seen as catastrophic, as mistaken interpretations of the Maya prophesies have done, but as A NEW BEGINNING.

What better time to start a new life with the one you love? AND in doing so, you will be contributing to the preservation of both the Maya Temples and the Coral Reef of Belize.
