I’m about to buy my wedding dress, and i see your official sponsor makes cotton gowns. Does fabric really matter?
ABSOLUTELY! This particular topic is a true passion for me as I’ve suffered mercilessly with even a synthetic lining. It’s just too hot and humid sometimes. remember, it is the tropics. I have yearned for really nice cotton regular every day clothes that aren’t t-shirts and shorts, let a lone FABulous wedding gown! I’ve told all my brides, girlfriends, and strangers on the internet – NATURAL FIBERS, Ladies! and frankly silk is the absolute worst! Silk is incredibly insulating, so RAH RAH COTTON! You want to enjoy your day and not look like a melted lump. Trust me, k?
What sunscreen to you recommend?
Sunscreen is a killer on the Reef. It kills it, but then again, the sun kills us…so i started researching and there are several Biodegradable options. Please, pretty please, buy these
You’ll be helping out Mother Belize’s Reef and Jungles. If i find a great one, I’ll add it to the Add-Ons page. And don’t tell me you don’t need sunscreen…i don’t care if you used baby oil in the summer (yes, i did this during my own personal jersey shore house days many moons ago…). You are closer to the sun here, it bounces off sea and sand, and it’s just necessary. K? And don’t forget your ears and tops of feet. Oh, and ladies, when you go snorkeling, don’t forget under you bum
Lara’s Tip: Vinegar takes the sting out of a sunburn. Honest! The first time my Belizean friends poured it on my sunburned newbie self, i asked if they were marinating me! But alas…although you will stink a bit, the sting really does go away.
Which vaccinations or shots does Belize require for entry?
Please refer to your home country’s recommendations, but Belize does not require Americans, Canadians, or Brits to get shots, but that doesn’t mean their government doesn’t recommend it. So please check with your home country.
I or one of my guests has food allergies. Can you accommodate them?
If someone in your party has a food allergy, email the details and nature of the allergies to us so we can see if they can be accommodated.
Why can’t I wear my Jimmy Choo stilettos?
I’ve always dreamed of getting married in them!? Ladies, trust me, i hear ya. I’m a shoe girl in my soul (get it?). But deeper in my soul is my respect for the 3,200 year old Ancient Temple upon which you will be wed. This wedding is about something beautiful and sacred, and I dare not endorse or allow anything that may possible damage the fragile connection to our past, that is these Temples. Your killer shoes will leave divots beyond repair in the enchanting forest floor, ruin your shoes, and chip away the plaster and stone of the Temples. Nope, help me out girls, ok? I live here, so I’d love to see your pictures of fabulous wedges! Viva La Wedge
I would like to avoid having to fly through the US. What options do i have?
Living abroad as i do, i understand that for non-Americans, the Immigration lines are very long. You may fly into Cancun, and then take transportation through to Belize. Unless you arrive before 8 am on December 9, 2012, however, you will have to overnight in Corozal Town, Belize on December 8, 2012 in order to make it to the Event.
West Coast and Central and South American’s will find Taca connects through San Salvador and is a DREAM! I am working on a contact within the Taca organization to get group pricing.
May I bring my own photographer, officient, or other “Wedding Support Staff” to the Wedding?
Due to the nature of a group event, unfortunately, these requests cannot be accommodated. The logistics and possible issues associated with these additions force us to forbid entrance to the Wedding for anyone other than approved Event Staff and Attendees.
I would like to bring other people to my wedding, even though I understand they cannot participate in any official Functions. Are there other hotels that they can stay at?
Yes, after you have been accepted as a “Maya Marriage of Many Bride”, please send us a request to be put on the “Over 6 List”. and you will be asked to provide information. Upon receipt of the information, your people will be placed on the wait list, on a first come first served basis. We will notify you when and if your folks reach the top of the list.
I would prefer not to share a room with my fiance until after we are married. Can this be accommodated?
When you sign up for your package, you are going to have a total of 4 rooms for you and your loved ones. You can sleep in any one of them whilst he sleeps in another
Unfortunately, due to the nature of a group event, this cannot be guaranteed. If after all 12 Bridal Couples and their Guests have been accommodated, if it is possible to make this happen, we will strive to do so, but again, we cannot promise. If this is a true “deal breaker” for you, this might not be the right event for you.
There are parts of the package that I do not want. Can I be issued a refund or credit for this portion?
Regretfully, no. Our packages are not priced “ala carte”, and to the nature of a group event, we are unable to make financial modifications.
Are all Event Functions handicap accessible?
Not technically, however, please email your assistance needs, and we will make every reasonable effort to accommodate you. We just very well may be able to make it work

I read online that my passport must be valid for more than 6 months before expiry. Is this really true?
Yes. Belize is very “no shirt no shoes no problem”, but safety and immigration are as important here as anywhere. And so are our laws.

ABSOLUTELY NOT. If you find yourself in jail in Belize, you are not going to be happy. Please, respect our people by respecting our laws.
